Focal Point for Chinese Members

The ISSA Focal Point for Chinese Members promotes cooperation and networking among members in mainland China and the two special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, and supports the ISSA by promoting the Association’s products and services, organizing events, and facilitating the exchange of good practices among social security institutions in the region.

Acting as an important bridge between the ISSA General Secretariat and the Chinese member organizations, the Focal Point for Chinese Members coordinates a programme of activities designed to satisfy the specific needs and priorities in the region.

Recent years have witnessed great achievements in China in terms of extending social security coverage and enhancing safety and health at work. Some of the innovative policies and good practices might be inspiring for colleagues and peers from abroad. Meanwhile, tremendous challenges remain ahead as the country deepens social security reforms and strives to develop a culture of prevention.

The Chinese members are likewise eager to learn about and draw on the valuable experience and lessons from other countries. The focal point seeks collaboration with the ISSA Liaison Office for Eastern Asia, and contributes actively to the ISSA’s international activities.
