A+A Congress – Session on “Safe Management of Contracts”

28. Oktober 2021 | Düsseldorf, Germany / Hybrid

The ISSA Electricity Section is contributing to the A+A Congress on Occupational Safety and Health in Düsseldorf, Germany (26 – 29 October 2021). During a compact session scheduled for the afternoon of 28 October (14.00 – 16.15 / UTC+2) the Section will present its “Guidance on the Safe Management of Contracts“ as well as selected examples from occupational health and safety praxis. Here you find the provisional program for the session.

The growing international tendency among companies to award contracts to third parties has a considerable impact on the normal workflow. Therefore, the Section for Electricity, Gas and Water of the International Social Security Association (ISSA) established an international working group on “Safe Management of Contracts” in 2015. The working group elaborated a guideline of the same name containing recommendations and assistance on how the procedures and relations between clients and contractors (including subcontractors) can be managed in the best possible manner.

During the Coronavirus pandemic the subject came back to the fore, e.g. due to mass infections of contractors in the German meat industry.

The objective of the session is to provide clients, contractors and subcontractors with prevention tools, applicable across sectors and countries, as well as to highlight examples of good practice, in order to ensure a successful and safe collaboration for the benefit of all parties.

The A+A Congress will take place in a hybrid form. Both, digital and live participation are possible for both speakers as well as participants. Our Session will be held in English. More information on the preliminary program of the Congress and registration, can be found on the Congress website.
