Excellence in social security administration in Asia and the Pacific

The ISSA Regional Social Security Forum for Asia and the Pacific will take place in Muscat, Oman, from 2 to 4 November 2015, at the invitation of the Public Authority for Social Insurance of the Sultanate of Oman.

Social security systems in Asia and the Pacific are evolving in a rapidly-changing economic and social environment. In a diverse region, ISSA member institutions have expanded and improved social security programmes through innovative and dynamic approaches to administration. A shared commitment to strengthened governance, performance and sustainability will be conditions to meet key challenges, including extension of coverage, demographic changes and the transformation of labour markets.

Focused on excellence in social security administration in Asia and the Pacific, the Forum will provide a key platform for participants, including ministers, CEOs and social security managers, to share information and analyse the most important social security trends and priority issues in the region.

A highlight of the Forum will be the ISSA Good Practice Award for Asia and the Pacific, recognizing achievements by social security institutions in the region.

Focusing on excellence in social security administration as a key condition for extending and sustaining social security, the Forum programme will cover the following areas:

  • Day 1: Developments and trends in social security in Asia and the Pacific
  • Day 2: Practical approaches to excellence in social security administration
  • Day 3: Extending and sustaining social security and Regional Social Security Summit

The Forum is open to ISSA member organizations from the Asia and Pacific region and invited participants only. The working language will be English and simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English and Arabic.
