Investing social security funds appropriately and responsibly requires a firm grasp of the underlying concepts and principles of investment. This course will allow participants to expand their knowledge and abilities by focusing on the ISSA Guidelines on Investment of Social Security Funds. It will cover (1) Investment governance principles, (2) Investment governance structures, (3) Common processes and (4) Processes specific to internal and external investment management. Participants will learn best practices in investing social security funds, from implementation to monitoring of an investment policy.

Who can participate?
The training course is designed for social security professionals from ISSA member institutions. Participants should hold positions directly related to the investment of social security funds.
Course learning materials and tuition will be offered online in English. The following requirements are therefore essential to participate in this course:
- the ability to use and access a computer with internet
- a working knowledge of English

Applicants should complete the online form no later than 22 April 2022, supported by a letter from their sponsoring institution, indicating to assume the costs of the participant.
Cost of participation
The cost of participating in this course is 915 euro. This is payable in advance by the participant’s sponsoring organization and covers tuition fees, support services and online training and training materials.
The diploma training programme
The ISSA Diploma programme offers high-level e-learning on the ISSA Guidelines for social security professionals.
The course consists of a number of online modules offered through the E-Campus online platform to be completed over a period of six weeks from 2 May to 10 June 2022 for an estimated 60 learning hours. The course is broken down into three phases.
- Pre-course learning: Flexible (asynchronous) self-guided online learning on E-Campus and an end of phase assessment.
- Real time learning: Live interactive sessions and engaging video presentations by highly experienced trainers, blended with individual and collaborative group exercises, peer-to-peer assessment and online technical forums on E-Campus.
- End of course assignment: Individual assignment applying ISSA Guidelines to the participant’s organization. Participants who successfully complete all assessments and the final assignment will receive a Diploma from the ISSA and the ITC-ILO.
This ISSA Diploma training course is also eligible for the ITC-ILO Diploma for Social Protection Managers.
