On 11–12 June 2024, a symposium of the International Section of the ISSA on Prevention in the Chemical Industry takes place in Frankfurt am Main, Germany on the topic “Hazardous Substances in Maintenance Works”. This hybrid event wil allows both on-site, as well as livestream participation.

The conference encompasses a wide scope, from the regulatory side, to extended concepts of prevention and to current scientific findings. The focus is directed towards handling of hazardous substances during maintenance works, exposure of maintenance workers to carcinogenic substances, especially to welding fumes. Further aspects are hot works, the cooperation of companies, the transport of dangerous goods as well as the maintenance and transport of demolished lithium batteries.

Attendance of the symposium is free of charge. Simultaneous translations into English and German will be provided for all presentations and discussions.
