Access, affordability, cost containment and health service efficiency are at the heart of reforms for improving social security coverage, benefits and services. Tackling unnecessary, inappropriate or non-compliant care is an ongoing objective and is, in the current budgetary context, more important than ever. Against this backdrop, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to unprecedented innovation.
The CEO Roundtable discussion will focus on the following questions:
- What is the role of leadership and strategic vision for fostering innovation to enhance health coverage, service quality and sustainability?
- What are the lessons learnt from the pandemic to strengthen the resilience of social security administrations in the health sector, improving shock-responsiveness for future crises, institutional capacity and business continuity?
- Demographic, social and environmental changes are severely impacting service delivery in health care. What are your views on access, affordability, cost containment and health service efficiency in the context of these evolutions?
- What are the institutional capacity and key components needed to address the current and future challenges?
10:10–11:10 Panel discussion
11:25–11:30 Closing of discussion
