On 15-16 June 2021, a symposium of the International Section of the ISSA on Prevention in the Chemical Industry takes place on the topic “Carcinogenic Substances: Risks and Prevention" as a livestream web conference.

Against the background of the continuous process of updating of the Carcinogens and Mutagens Directive by the European Commission (EC), carcinogenic substances at the workplace are currently in the focus of an intense discussion on a national, as well as European level.

With renowned speakers, this event of the Section on Prevention in the Chemical Industry encompasses a wide scope, from the regulatory side, to current scientific findings, to extended concepts of prevention, in order to avert respective occupational diseases. The focus is also directed towards the structure of technical protective measures and closed systems. These are gaining more and more importance in view of general tendency of lowered limit values.
