The Regional Social Security Forum for the Americas is the biggest social security event in the region.
Organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the Forum will bring together some 200 senior managers from social security institutions from all regions of the Americas, as well as representatives of international and regional organizations.
The Forum is a unique opportunity to exchange, learn and network with social security professionals. The Forum is hosted by the Social Insurance Fund of Costa Rica (Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social – CCSS).
For leaders and decision-makers
The event is aimed at leaders and senior managers of social security institutions in the Americas. The Forum is exclusively open to ISSA member institutions. Invitations will also be extended to a number of ministers, policymakers, experts and representatives of international and regional organizations.
Key social security themes
Centred on a new report published by the ISSA, the Forum will address a range of topical issues related to social security in the Americas. Building on the positive impact of social security responses to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be also be a prime opportunity to exchange on lessons learnt for service delivery and the essential role of social security for societies.
In a world that evolves increasingly rapidly, the Forum aims to provide answers to key questions concerning the global goal of achieving universal social protection by 2030 – questions that include:
- How can we develop and improve on social security management practices?
- How can we extend and maintain social security coverage?
- How can we meet the changing needs and expectations of the population?
- How can we optimize social security’s contribution to social cohesion?
ISSA Good Practice Award
The Forum will showcase innovative work and good practices from social security institutions in the Americas. The prestigious ISSA Good Practice Award for the Americas will be one of the highlights of the Forum.
