In conjunction with a digital transformation strategy, the Pension and Retirement Fund of the Province of Córdoba (Caja de Jubilaciones, Pensiones y Retiros de la Provincia de Córdoba), which forms part of the Federal Social Insurance Council (Consejo Federal de Previsión Social – COFEPRES) of Argentina, introduced digital files in 2016 and converted the process for claims, accreditation of rights and granting of pension benefits into a 100 per cent online service (100 per cent web-based). The practice began with a specific type of benefit then gradually included others; until it now covers all pension services and the handling of claims via a web platform. Claims can be dealt with via several channels, such as social networks and call centres.
This practice has turned the Caja into a 100 per cent digital entity that can be managed remotely, reducing paper consumed, inputs, energy and time, among other things, representing an innovation for the region.
Another relevant achievement has been significantly improved service for citizens, who can handle procedures from the comfort of their home. In a country as vast as Argentina, digital tools make it possible to federalize services, offering identical conditions for access.
