The Process of managing pregnancy and post-pregnancy (Gestion de la Embarazada y Puérpera – GEyP) standardizes care for pregnant women in the Red Asistencial Juliaca (RAJUL) healthcare network of the EsSalud - Social Health Insurance Institute (EsSalud - Seguro Social de Salud). It judiciously incorporates institutional standards for pregnancy with medical advances as of December 2019 and adds a dynamic administrative process. Everything is contained in a graphic presentation that lays out tasks and functions in accordance with the pregnancy timeline. Existing problems are solved.
As there are many variables when it comes to standardizing staff performance, we created the technical sheet “Prenatal check-up” adopted via a resolution whereby we also specify the correct application of the process as an inalienable right for every pregnant woman.
The group “Pregnant women with identified risk” was set up, ensuring close monitoring of this potential at-risk group. The group features information booklets (patient) in three languages as well as instructions (staff).
An Excel app was created for recording care that can be viewed in real time in the healthcare-providing institution (Institución Prestadora de Servicios de Salud – IPRESS) and the supervisory body at the head of the network, thereby reducing agents’ workload.
