Online collection system: Declaration of personal and employer contributions application

Implementation year
2011

As far as social security is concerned, contribution collection systems are important, not only because they manage the main source of funding, but also because they are the source of information that is vital for the purposes of managing benefits.

The mechanisms that were used for employers to declare the payroll of working agents and determine contributions were characterised by high levels of inefficiency. The scheme was based on obsolete procedures (mostly manual), both to determine the amount of contributions each month, and to manage the information that feeds each member’s employment history.

A modern computing system, the Integral Cordoba Pension System application (Sistema Integral de Jubilaciones Córdoba – SIJCOR), was launched in 2011 to collect contributions and information on contributors. This digital method, together with the implementation of stringent monitoring and validation, lines of communication with employers and interface with the organization’s management system, has allowed efficient and effective collection management, by having complete and accurate information.

This good practice has been developed by the Pension and Retirement Fund of the Province of Cordoba (Caja de Jubilaciones, Pensiones y Retiros de la Provincia de Córdoba), which is a member of Argentina’s Federal Social Insurance Council (Consejo Federal de Previsión Social – COFEPRES).
