An occupational safety and health web app for seasonal workers

A multilingual Internet-based application providing information for seasonal workers on occupational safety and health issues in the agricultural sector in Germany

Implementation year
2021

How can seasonal workers protect their safety and health at work, identify potential health or accident risks and be aware of the first aid measures that must be adopted should the need arise? Seasonal workers can find specific information on these issues, relevant to the needs arising at their place of work, using the new health and safety web app from the Social Insurance for Agriculture, Forestry and Horticulture (Sozialversicherung für Landwirtschaft, Forsten und Gartenbau – SVLFG). Business operators and supervisors can also use the web app to inform themselves about occupational safety and health aspects of seasonal work and to provide targeted information as part of the legally required training for seasonal workers.

The SVLFG has produced a web app providing information for agricultural seasonal workers (www.agriwork-germany.de), available in nine languages. The web app uses a mix of text, images and videos to provide information on relevant occupational safety and health issues in Germany. If users have further questions, the web app enables them to get in touch with the SVLFG directly.
