On the occasion of the 16th Occupational Health and Safety Forum in Luxembourg, the International Section of the ISSA for Electricity, Gas and Water held its General Assembly on 12 May 2023. Members from seven different countries participated and elected the Board of the Section.
After the last virtual General Assembly in 2020, the ISSA Electricity Section was this year able to meet again in a face-to-face meeting. Among other agenda topics, the Board presented the Section’s past activities and discussed with its members possible new activities for the upcoming years.
A new Board of the Section was appointed by the members. As communicated some time ago, former Section President Martina Hesse-Spötter had resigned from her position on the Section's Board due to a change of career. The General Assembly elected the following Board members
- Jens Jühling, German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the energy, textile and media products sectors (Berufsgenossenschaft Energie Textil Elektro Medienerzeugnisse – BG ETEM), Germany, as President
- Antonio De Cos Blanco, Fraternidad Muprespa, Spain, as Vice-President
- Juan Carlos Belza, Regional Energy Integration Commission (Comisión de Integración Energética Regional – CIER), Uruguay, as Vice-President
- Joydeep Mukherjee, BG ETEM, Germany, as Technical Secretary and
- Jennifer Papantuono, BG ETEM, Germany, as Treasurer
The ISSA Electricity Section is pleased to welcome Juan Carlos Belza, representative of CIER, as new Vice-President of the Board.
The ISSA Electricity Section would also like to thank Peter McCormick, former Vice-President of the Section. After almost 10 years as Vice-President, Peter has retired from the Board, but will remain a friend and expert to the Section. We wish him all the best and much joy for his time as a pensioner.
