The ISSA Good Practice Award for Africa is open

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) has launched the call for participation in the ISSA Good Practice Award for Africa 2020. This is a unique opportunity for social security institutions in the region to receive recognition for their innovations and achievements.

The ISSA Good Practice Award competition is organized in connection with the upcoming Regional Social Forum for Africa that will take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 30 June to 2 July 2020, at the invitation of the Social Insurance Institute - National Social Insurance Fund of Côte d’Ivoire.

Presenting the winner of the ISSA Practice Award for Africa 2020 will be one of the highlights of the Forum. The competition will not only throw spotlight on the winner, it is an opportunity to showcase a broader base of good practices, implemented by institutions, and contributing to developing, delivering and promoting social security in the region. Collected good practices will also help shape the programme of the Forum and be an opportunity for institutions to showcase their achievements.

In 2017, the winning contribution was from the National Social Insurance Fund of Cameroon for implementing an e-learning programme to boost core competences of staff and institutional capacity. Subsequently, there have been regional winners from Uruguay (the Americas), the Republic of Korea (Asia and the Pacific) and Belgium (Europe).

Since the Awards were launched in 2008, more than 800 good practices have been collected in the ISSA Good Practice Database, which provides a rich source of inspirational examples for ISSA member institutions. ISSA members from Africa are invited to submit their good practice proposals by 31 January 2020.
