The first ever Special Distinction for Innovation in the Good Practice Award for the Americas competition was awarded to the Salvadoran Social Security Institute (Instituto Salvadoreño del Seguro Social – ISSS) for the good practice “Dr ISSS online: A new telemedicine care model”.
DATAPREV – Social Security Information and Technology Enterprise from Brazil has been awarded the Good Practice Award for the Americas 2023 for its “Emergency Aid” during the COVID-19 pandemic, which reached 118 million people.
The ISSA Good Practice Award for Africa 2023 has been awarded to the Department of Social Development in South Africa for the Child Support Grant and its role in the gradual extension of social security coverage to vulnerable children.

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) today launched new ground-breaking Guidelines on Human Resource Management and on Continuity and Resilience of Social Security Services and Systems. In addition, five sets of ISSA Guidelines have been revised and updated.
During the 2020–2022 triennium, the ISSA Technical Commission on Mutual Benefit Societies (TC Mutual) has focused on the evolving needs of an ageing population, social security coverage in a changing world, and the role of social security in promoting inclusive growth and social cohesion.
The Technical Commission for Contribution Collection and Compliance (TC CCC) has been active in many areas during the 2020–2022 triennium, working on several reports, the revision of ISSA Guidelines, contributing to key events and piloting e-workshops.
