Information session on progress made under the WHO Global Plan of Action on Workers’ Health (2008 - 2017)

The 60th World Health Assembly in 2007 endorsed the WHO global plan of action on workers’ health for the period 2008 - 2017. The plan aimed to strengthen the performance of health systems in protecting and improving the health of all workers. The priorities for acti on included national policy instruments, workplace health protection and promotion, occupational health services, data and evidence as well as integrating workers’ health in other policies.

During the period 2008 - 2017, the WHO Secretariat has - through with its headquarters, regional and country offices and its global network of WHO collaborating centres for occupational health - provided support to Member States for implementing this plan of action. Certain actions were carried out in collaboration with ILO and other international partners, such as the International Commission on Occupational Health, and the International Social Security Association.

On 6 September 2017, WHO will hold an information session on progress made under the WHO Global Plan of Action on Workers’ Health (2008 - 2017) . The session will be held from 14 .00 to 17.30 h, in the Orchid Jr Room, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and will provide an opportunity for interested partners, stakeholders and individuals to hear about and provide feedbac k on the progress made in the implementation of the ten - year global plan of action on workers’ health.

The meeting is open to any party with a demonstrated interest in workers’ health , subject to the availability of sufficient seats, on a first come, first served basis. An expression of interest to participate should be submitted to WHO by registering on the following link:

The expression of interest will need to include information aimed at demonstrating the prospective participant’s interest in workers’ health and is subject to validation by WHO. Registration will close by 30 August 2017 . Registered participants will receive confirmation by 31 August 2017 .
