Future of Work: Preparing for Tomorrow Today

2–3 August 2017 | Kuala LumpurMalaysia

The Employees Provident Fund, Malaysia will be organising an International Social Security Conference (ISSC) themed ‘Future of Work: Preparing for Tomorrow Today’ which will take place in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia from 2nd to 3rd August 2017.

Co-hosted with Bank of New York Mellon, a global investment institution, the 2017 ISSC aims to provide a premier networking platform to promote constructive exchange of ideas and knowledge on new trends affecting the work landscape.

The nature and type of work are undergoing profound changes driven by disruptive technology and breakthrough in traditional work order giving rise to the gig economy.  Globally, the gig economy has become a fast-growing industry with 20 to 30 per cent of workforce pursuing freelancing opportunities. Majority of them are youths who prefer flexible jobs which allow them to choose where, when and how they work¹.

Recognising the implications of these changes on the current social protection mandates, we need to explore ways to respond effectively to ensure social protection ecosystem constantly stays relevant in line with the latest developments in the marketplace for the well-being of all.

This year, ISSC 2017 convenes world-class thinkers and experts from the United States, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The two-day conference programme is an exciting combination of highlight sessions, panel discussions coupled with excellent networking opportunities which aim to explore new possibilities for both organisations and individuals. This conversation includes preparing a workplace for rapid changes in the 21st century.

Registration is now open for this prestigious conference. Registration form can be downloaded here. Should you need further information on ISSC 2017, please feel free to email ISSC Secretariat at [email protected].
