ISSA Academy customized training on strategic planning and risk management

25–26 June 2018 | Port of SpainTrinidad and Tobago

Join a two-day training on strategic planning and risk management (25–26 June 2018)

Strategic planning and risk management are two sides of the same coin. Risk management is important because it affects the extent to which an organization is able to achieve the goals and targets set forth in its strategic plan. By identifying risks and determining the amount of risk to tolerate, an organization may take precautionary measures to reduce the likelihood of their occurrence; and should a risk occur, the organization is ready to manage its impact on performance. Join this two-day training on good governance, strategic planning and risk management and tap into the expertise of the ISSA and its member organizations.

The customized training will be followed by an ISSA Academy workshop on good governance, strategic planning and risk management (27–29 June 2018)

If you would like to join the workshop there is a separate online registration and information on the ISSA website:

ISSA Guidelines on Good Governance

The first part of the ISSA Guidelines on Good Governance outlines the five principles of good governance for the board and management. The second part offers practical guidance on the nine core areas of common concern to social security institutions: strategic planning; operational risk management; internal audit of operations; actuarial soundness; enforcing the prudent principle in investment management; prevention and control of corruption and fraud; service standards; human resources; and information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure.

This workshop will bring to bear the five principles of governance on the critical area of risk management.
