New benefit for the families of employees who died during the COVID-19 pandemic - Ex-gratia lifetime pension for the families of health-care workers, members of the armed and security forces and others who died as a result of COVID-19

Chapter II of Law No. 27.549 establishes an ex-gratia lifetime pension in Argentina that consists of a monthly sum that is double the minimum retirement pension for the families of technical professionals and assistants (including chefs, technicians and cleaners) and managers of public and private health-care systems; armed forces personnel; security forces personnel; migration and customs officials; firefighters; household waste collectors and pathogenic waste collectors who, having effectively provided essential services during the health emergency, died in the period from 1 March to 30 September 2020 as a result of contracting COVID-19.
