In order to forge a culture of social protection and solidarity, people must have confidence in the social protection system and believe in the principles on which it is based. This is necessary if the system is to be sustainable. Therefore, as a prerequisite to this, individuals must have a real understanding of what is at stake and how the system works. To make up for the lack of education in this area, a decree was passed tasking France’s National School of Social Security (EN3S - École nationale supérieure de sécurité sociale) with promoting the principles and objectives of social protection among young people.
Over the past few years, the EN3S has implemented a number of projects aimed at raising awareness on social security, strengthening social citizenship, transmitting the values of social protection and promoting the changes made to modernize the public social security service, in particular through the system hub on the secu-jeunes.fr website.
