The ISSA recruits Professional and General Services categories of staff. Professional staff members are normally internationally recruited for functions which require a university degree and a high level of functional skills and may involve supervisory responsibility. General Services staff are designated as support staff and are normally recruited locally.

Conditions of employment at the ISSA follow those of the International Labour Office (ILO) and the United Nations remuneration system.

Director Social Security Development

The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is looking for a new Director of its Social Security Development Branch.

This exciting senior management position will be of interest to you if you have excellent knowledge of social security and social security administration at both a strategic and applied level, you enjoy managing complex programmes of projects and guiding people to reach successful outcomes.

As Director Social Security Development, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the knowledge production of the ISSA to respond to the diverse and rapidly evolving topical priorities of ISSA members and to address the future challenges of social security administration. This position is part of the management team of the ISSA and is responsible for developing the ISSA technical activities and knowledge base, in particular with regard to the ISSA Guidelines, analytical reports, social security databases and related knowledge resources. The position manages a team of social security experts and works extensively with the ISSA Technical Commissions to implement a global programme of applied knowledge development in line with the ISSA Programme and Budget.

We are looking for a strategic thinker, who is a team player with excellent management and interpersonal skills, experienced in project management, with a strong responsibility for performance, openness to diversity and international experience.
