A review of Forum Prävention 2023

The Forum Prävention 2023 took place in Vienna, Austria, 23–25 May 2023. With a new concept, the Forum took into account the increasing internationalisation of work, which poses challenges for occupational safety and health, such as digitalization and cross-border supply chains. For the first time, it consisted of an international and a national part.

At this year's Forum Prävention, more than 140 speakers and chairs from Austria and abroad presented their ideas and projects on the topics of digitalisation, Vision Zero and supply chains to around 1,200 M;participants.

The first half of the Forum Prävention was dedicated to the international part, which was held in cooperation with the International Social Security Association (ISSA). The national part was covered in the tried and tested form by the working groups from the fields of occupational medicine, medical institutions, ergonomics, industrial and organizational psychology, construction, the oil and gas industry, traffic and transport, and metal and electro.

66 companies offered an overview of products for a safe everyday working life. The follow-up report summarises the keynotes and provides deeper insights into the three main topics (digitalisation, Vision Zero, supply chains) of the congress.

Dr. Klaus Schäfer from the German Statutory Accident Insurance Institution for the Trade and Logisitics Industries (Berufsgenossenschaft Handel und Warenlogistik – BGHW) was interviewed on how supply chains can contribute to achieving Vision Zero.
